Independent game developer ArtCraft Entertainment raised $11.7 million in additional funding for the release of its MMO game Crowfall.
Crowfall Developer ArtCraft Entertainment Secures $11.7M in Series A Funding
Austin-based ArtCraft Entertainment raised $11.7 million in a Series A funding round for the launch of its MMO game Crowfall. Although the company did not disclose its investors, ArtCraft started in a Kickstarter campaign which raised $1.77 million in 2015.
In the years that followed, Crowfall amassed pledges of up to $5.7 million through crowdfunding. Another $30 million came from distribution agreements, technology licensing, and previous investment rounds.
Crowfall is still in the internal beta testing phase but it is almost ready to start its public beta.
Gordon Walton, ArtCraft Entertainment co-founder and president, revealed that over 300,000 players signed up for the game’s beta release which will happen in the first quarter of the year.
