Activision Blizzard Names YouTube as Exclusive Streaming Partner, Google Cloud as Preferred Game Hosting Provider

Activision Blizzard gives exclusive broadcast rights to Google-owner YouTube and designated Google Cloud as its preferred service for game hosting.

California-based companies Activision Blizzard and Google announced a multi-year strategic partnership that covers cloud services and esports broadcasts.

As part of the deal, Google Cloud will become the preferred game hosting infrastructure of the company. With this move, Activision Blizzard expects new players to experience low latency and packet loss when playing games across all devices.

Moreover, Google-owned video streaming company YouTube will be Activision Blizzard’s exclusive streaming partner. The broadcasting agreement applies to all countries except China, covering esports events and leagues including Call of Duty League, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and World of Warcraft.

All Activision Blizzard competitions, including the Overwatch League 2020 season (which will start on Feb. 8), will be live-streamed on the league’s official YouTube channel.
